The jury in the landmark intellectual property case
Apple v. Samsung ruled overwhelmingly in favor of Apple, awarding it
approximately $1.05 billion in damages Friday afternoon. Although an impressive stat in itself, it's the implications in the jury's vastly Apple-favorable design and utility patent rulings that could have serious effects on the mobile industry and for consumers.
